PRESERVATION

To protect and preserve. We can take steps to limit the impact of external forces on trees. Damage to trees can be averted with a little forethought. Whether being impacted by a storm or by human activities we can take steps to limit the damage that is done to our precious trees. Identifying tree structural issues and taking steps to mitigate these problems can be the difference between tree loss and retention. We specialize in tree support systems, including cabling, bracing and guying. Along with strategic load reduction we may be able to retain trees that others condemn. Planning for human intervention can reduce or eliminate the impact we have on tree stability and health. The cutting of roots, compaction of soil, and grade changes can have an irreversible effect on trees. We can help you identify and anticipate these conflicts and take practical measures to avoid and limit the consequences for your trees. PRUNING

We may want to prune trees for a variety of reasons. Trees have done very well on their own for a very long time, but we want to live with them in a residential environment and that takes management. Safety, beauty, plant health and structural training are standard tree centered goals. We may need to manage trees around buildings or retain a priceless vista. All these considerations require pruning to smooth that interface between people and trees. Helping us coexist with benefits for both sides. That is our goal.

REMOVALS

There are, of course, many reasons that we may not be able to retain a tree. All trees will eventually reach an end of their life and we can help them come to a graceful end. Trees can die, threaten people or property, or impact the health of more desirable plants. We can help you identify problem trees and we are skilled in the removal of trees in close quarters. We can get rid of all the unwanted debris and stumps to keep your remaining trees and property at their best. We recycle all debris locally as either mulch, firewood for heating, or to local artisans and sawmills.

Meet The Arborist

FLINT ANDERSON

Flint has been climbing trees professionally for nearly 20 years in the Mid-Atlantic region and has been a Certified Arborist for over 15 years. He believes in keeping the trees we have for as long as possible. Along with constantly honing his craft, he is a frequent trainer of other tree climbers. He has taught classes at the National Arboretum and West Virginia University for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (MAC ISA). He is a competitive tree climber and has climbed trees around the country and the world, from a small Dogwood tree in your backyard to the Giant Sequoias out in California.
